Jeers to comedian Rosebud Baker and “Daily Show” host Desi Lydic for their reckless, flippant, not funny remarks about kicking pigeons last night. Lydic was interviewing Baker and asked her how she coped with the pace of the news.

“I center myself. Breathe. And just kick one pigeon as far as I can.” Lydic responded: “With bird flu going around they kind of have it coming.” And Baker said: “You’re saving lives.” The clip ends with “You can see Rosebud kicking pigeons around New York City but you can also see her special “The Motherload” streaming now on Netflix.

NYC’s pigeons don’t deserve to be abused and scapegoated, while wildlife is literally under siege from bird flu in the U.S., not to mention it’s impact on doomed animals being raised for food and humans. How grotesque.
