JEERS to the Bureau of Land Management, which just announced at the National Wild Horse and Burro Roundtable  a $30 million investment from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to expand and accelerate wild horse fertility control efforts.

And thumbs down to so-called animal advocacy groups—Humane World for Animals, American Wild Horse Conservation, and Return to Freedom—who participated in the roundtable and are applauding the BLM. By doing so they too are perpetuating the myth that there are too many wild horses on federal public lands.

Adding insult to injury, these groups pretend the BLM will eventually stop violent wild horse roundups if chemical sterilants like PZP are used more. In truth, under the Trump Administration, roundups are planned until wild horses are extinct on public lands.

The only thing there are too many of on the range are doomed cattle and sheep being exploited by the meat industry.

It’s time to hold everyone accountable who is pushing risky PZP drugs—made from slaughterhouse pig ovaries. PZP is a ‘restricted-use pesticide’ that has labeled wild horses as ‘pests’ thanks to the Humane World for Animals, the registrant of the drug.
