Jeers to Impossible Foods, which snuck a non-vegan product into its lineup and onto grocery store shelves across the country, betraying animals and vegans.

The sloppy looking breakfast sandwich includes an Impossible sausage patty, but each one also contains an egg and a slice of dairy cheese. It’s unhealthy, unappetizing, and most of all, unjust.

Impossible Foods is currently led by an out-of-touch CEO who previously worked in the dairy industry; we’re not surprised by his poor judgement. Once synonymous with veganism, the brand is now taking a direct part in fueling the exploitation of animals.

Remember, the egg industry kills over 7 billion male chicks each year. That’s not to mention the immense suffering and brutal conditions faced by hens. The term “cage-free” is just propaganda from the industry to make consumers feel better about horrors that take place regardless. The dairy industry is interconnected with the meat industry: cows who are exploited for their milk have their calves stripped away from them to be killed and sold as food. When milk production declines, these dairy cows are killed too.

By adding eggs and dairy cheese to their products, Impossible Foods is contributing to this very suffering. We believe that our members don’t stand to lose a thing by boycotting Impossible Foods. These products hurt animals and are also unhealthy for humans — the sandwich in question is packed with sodium and saturated fat.
