Tell Nevada: Wild horses ARE wildlife "“ let them have water!

Oppose AB 329

A bill that has reached the Nevada State Senate seeks to re-define the word "wildlife," stripping protections for wild horses and burros, and eliminating any mandate that allows them... water.

Merriam-Webster defines wildlife as follows: living things and especially mammals, birds, and fishes that are neither human nor domesticated.

But Nevada lawmakers have introduced AB 329, which seeks to exclude wild horses and burros from that definition in the context of water resources:

The current budget bill before Congress contains a provision that will take gray wolves off the Endangered Species List in Montana and Idaho. Animal advocates only have a short time to speak out. Currently, there isn't a Senator who has introduced an amendment that will remove this deadly rider from the budget bill.

Open Letter to Dale Garner, Chief, Wildlife Bureau, Iowa Division of Natural Resources

This letter is in response to the killing of a small herd of elk living in Allamakee County, Iowa by the Iowa Division of Natural Resource (DNR).

Despite a glaring lack of evidence that these elk are infected with Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD), Iowa DNR officials state that they must kill the elk in order to prevent this disease from spreading. However, no disease is controlled by slaughtering animals who aren't infected with it.
