pNew York residents are invited to join Friends of Animals and League of Humane Voters on May 7th for NY State Lobby Day in Albany as we meet with NY Senators and Assembly Members in the Capitol to educate and urge passage of three critically important animal protection bills currently pending in the New York State Legislature./p
pThis is an incredible opportunity for you to meet and speak directly with your elected officials about legislation that will make a tremendous difference in the lives of animals in New York. /p
pWe will hold a pre-lobbying meeting at 11:15am in the Legislative Office Building, Hearing Room A, where we will prepare everyone for the day, organize you into lobbying teams, give out meeting schedules, legislative packets and give an overview of the pending legislation that we’re supporting. You’ll also get tips and hear from some animal-friendly legislators and sponsors of the bills we’re supporting at the meeting before you begin your exciting day of lobbying for the animals!/p

After you register you can also reserve your seat on the special low-price bus we’ve chartered ($20 roundtrip) leaving Manhattan at 8am and arriving in Albany before 11am. pThe three critical pending bills we are focusing on for Lobby Day (read full legislation at links) are: 1. a href=”″S4074/A3661/a The bill to ban animal-killing/hunting contests and competitions. 2. a href=”″S2271/A1204/a The bill to ban devocalization (vocal cord mutilation) of dogs and cats. 3. a href=””S00667/A00997/a The bill to ban horse-drawn carriages in New York City and place each horse in a sanctuary or refuge./p
