Grilled Tofu with Mustard Dipping Sauce
1 pound firm tofu
1/4 cup, cold-pressed olive oil
1 lime, squeezed
1/4 cup tamari
1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger, or 1/4 teaspoon powdered ginger
1 clove minced garlic
Dash of cayenne pepper
Mustard Dipping Sauce (optional; recipe follows)
11/2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1/2 tablespoon brown rice vinegar
11/2 tablespoons tamari
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Cut tofu lengthwise into four filets. Mix together olive oil, lime juice, tamari, ginger, garlic and cayenne pepper. Marinate tofu in mixture for at least four hours or overnight.
Grill tofu over hot coals or on a stove top grill until heated through and lightly browned (31/2 minutes each side).
Mustard Dipping Sauce:
Mix all ingredients in a small bowl and serve alongside tofu.
