Friends of Animals Goes Hollywood

The publication of FoA Vegan Restaurant Guides has made dining out easier for vegetarians in New York, San Francisco and Toronto. Now Friends of Animals is going to Hollywood, issuing our new “FoA Vegan Restaurant Guide to Los Angeles.” The dozens of locations featured in this handy new guide offer a wide array of vegan dining experiences - from California cuisine and raw organic meals to Japanese fast food or home-style comfort foods. We encourage tourists to try California Vegan, a popular all-vegan Thai restaurant located on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.

Actor Michael Bell, star of “Rugrats” and more than 100 interactive games, provided FoA with his favorites among our list of L.A. vegetarian eateries. He is especially fond of the mushroom-based drumsticks and spinach noodle soup at Garden Wok, on Reseda Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley. Michael has another favorite on the list, telling FoA, “Victoria and I have been married 20 years. She used to dream about me, now she dreams about the vegetarian Salisbury steak at Real Foods Daily. We just love the food there.”

Real Food Daily serves no animal products, and has three locations listed in the new guide. Customers also include Ed Begley Jr., Woody Harrelson, David Duchovny and Joni Mitchell. The restaurant was founded and is operated by vegan chef Ann Gentry, who moved from Tennessee to Los Angeles and became personal chef to actor Danny DeVito before opening up her vegan restaurants. Ann went into business “to raise the standards and expectations of vegetarian restaurants by providing fresh, delicious and unique meals of plant origin.”

We will also be distributing it at the Healthy Lifestyle Expo in Los Angeles October 8-10 at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel at Los Angeles International Airport. If you live in or visit Los Angeles, contact Friends of Animals for a copy of the guide, which is also available on the FoA Website at www.friendsofanimals.org.
