Howling Across America to Save Wolves

Like Humans, Wolves Live In Families. Like Humans, Wolves Need Friends.

Wolves display high intelligence, expressiveness, and other characteristics that enable them to maintain sophisticated, family-based social bonds. Without friends defending their rights and interests, the fates of wolves in Alaska, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and most of the Northern Rockies are thrown to hunters, ranchers and federal agents under the "livestock protection" banner.

· Tonight (Friday): Wolf Advocate Priscilla Feral on HLN's Issues With Jane Velez-Mitchell

· Rallies and Boycotts of Idaho, Montana and Wyoming

· Legal Appeal for Wolves

Special announcement: Watch Friends of Animals president Priscilla Feral as a guest of Jane Velez-Mitchell today on CNN's HLN TV (SEE VIDEO), talking about today's DC Rally for Wolves and efforts to halt the killing. To become a friend to help Friends of Animals protect wolves, donate now.

In April 2011, the U.S. Congress slipped a wolf de-listing rider into the federal budget bill, yanking wolves from the Endangered Species List in the Northern Rockies-where it's estimated that just over 1500 wolves remain.

Said Priscilla Feral, president of Friends of Animals: "Removing federal protection and subjecting wolves to more hunting is unconstitutional and unconscionable."

The Rally for Wolves in Washington, DC today to denounce this underhanded de-listing is the first of many rallies in North America.

Members and supporters of Friends of Animals now call for a travel and economic boycott of the states that advocate killing wolves: Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.

"We need to put the economic screws to state governments that persecute wolves at the behest of haters," said Feral.

Tags are already on sale in Montana for the shooting of 225 wolves; more than 1000 tags have been sold in the first few days. In Idaho, the bloodbath is slated to begin this month - on the 30th of August.

Friends of Animals' legal experts are now drafting an amicus brief to buttress an appeal before federal Judge Donald Molloy by Alliance for the Wild Rockies, Friends of the Clearwater and WildEarth Guardians "to preserve both wolves and the rule of law in the Northern Rockies."

Time is of the essence. Support our efforts today. If you can do a Howl-In for your city (international support is welcome), email Dustin Rhodes. Everyone can contact the governors and announce your intent to boycott travel in each state for as long as they continue persecuting wolves:

Protect the wolves, we have to learn to live with the native species, after all we are the real intruders.

Killing of the wolves is nothing but murder. What you are doing is wonderful. Your protection of the wolves is wonderful. I am shocked at the people who are wolf haters. They do not know what they are heading for. The revenge of God. I know He cries and Heaven cries every time an animal is killed, unless it is for food. God knows people need to eat. But the wolves are not for food. They are for our ecosystem. Our forests are saved by the wolves, by keeping the wild herds moving. The grasses growing and keeping the herds healthy. By hunting of the sick, weak, lame and old of the herds.

Mr. Governor , WOLVES live in family packs as we do. What gives you the right to wipe them off the earth ?? Who do you think you are ?. GOD ! He is the only one & mother nature will be devasted by all the WOLVES Gone ! Thanks to you , you F***ing Moron !!! What gives you the right to play God with Mother Nature. And why Wolves??? There are many creature`s including us , that over populate the world. WHY , WHY , WHY are you picking on WOLVES ??? You are a very disturbed , can`t say man , cause your not one !!! IDIOT !!!!!!!!!!!

i may be just 11 but i know i love animals help fight to stop the killing

What is wrong with these idiots trying to get rid of such beautiful animals? Do these so called humane humans not have a soul or a heart? Think not! Remember we ALL pay for the evil we do. SAVE THE WOLVES! Boycott all states that allows this senseless killing to go on and if President Obama is involved with letting these beautiful animals be killed I WILL NOT make the mistake of voting for him again.

i saw the program on HLN. I have just finished sending emails to all three governors and Ken Salazar. I have signed and seen petitions to save the wolves. Go to change.org save the wolves. You will find numerous petitions at the site

And shame on Ken Salazar. He, too, should be contacted---Department of the Interior 1849 C Street, N.W. Washington DC 20240 Phone: (202) 208-3100 E-Mail: feedback@ios.doi.gov

They should leave the wolves alone they are taking the native American Indian believes away the teacher of man kind they are very loyal to each other and to human but once again white man and government take over and destroys every thing they don't care about if it is not their way it no way.

This is just slaughter beyond belief. Obviously our U.S. government cannot be trusted to manage wildlife. They've already messed up so many things in this country, why pick on the few surviving wolves that are left? Every executive of the three states, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana as well as their governors must be wolf haters, as well as all other dog breeds in general. Don't kill our wolves, you selfish beings. Go take your hatred governors to the everglades or better yet, let someone else to be in control. As for the people of America, we must rebel and protect these creatures at no extent. Obstruct officials from using their weapons and entering the forest! Hang signs on intersection poles and windows! Brothers and sisters of America, wolves are what brought us Siberian Huskies, German Shepherds, Great Danes, and therefore I say do not be afraid to get out there and make a scene. Fill the in-boxes of governors. Do all you can for wolves, raise a fist in the air, and howl.

I find killing beautiful wolves so unnatural. They are ruining what mother nature intended on being here. I have emailed the three states, and continue.
