Howling Across America to Save Wolves

Like Humans, Wolves Live In Families. Like Humans, Wolves Need Friends.

Wolves display high intelligence, expressiveness, and other characteristics that enable them to maintain sophisticated, family-based social bonds. Without friends defending their rights and interests, the fates of wolves in Alaska, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and most of the Northern Rockies are thrown to hunters, ranchers and federal agents under the "livestock protection" banner.

Friends of Animals: Howling Across America to Save Wolves
· Tonight (Friday): Wolf Advocate Priscilla Feral on HLN's Issues With Jane Velez-Mitchell

· Rallies and Boycotts of Idaho, Montana and Wyoming

· Legal Appeal for Wolves

Special announcement: Watch Friends of Animals president Priscilla Feral as a guest of Jane Velez-Mitchell today on CNN's HLN TV (SEE VIDEO), talking about today's DC Rally for Wolves and efforts to halt the killing. To become a friend to help Friends of Animals protect wolves, donate now.

In April 2011, the U.S. Congress slipped a wolf de-listing rider into the federal budget bill, yanking wolves from the Endangered Species List in the Northern Rockies-where it's estimated that just over 1500 wolves remain.

Said Priscilla Feral, president of Friends of Animals: "Removing federal protection and subjecting wolves to more hunting is unconstitutional and unconscionable."

The Rally for Wolves in Washington, DC today to denounce this underhanded de-listing is the first of many rallies in North America.

Members and supporters of Friends of Animals now call for a travel and economic boycott of the states that advocate killing wolves: Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.

"We need to put the economic screws to state governments that persecute wolves at the behest of haters," said Feral.

Tags are already on sale in Montana for the shooting of 225 wolves; more than 1000 tags have been sold in the first few days. In Idaho, the bloodbath is slated to begin this month - on the 30th of August.

Friends of Animals' legal experts are now drafting an amicus brief to buttress an appeal before federal Judge Donald Molloy by Alliance for the Wild Rockies, Friends of the Clearwater and WildEarth Guardians "to preserve both wolves and the rule of law in the Northern Rockies."

Time is of the essence. Support our efforts today. If you can do a Howl-In for your city (international support is welcome), email Dustin Rhodes. Everyone can contact the governors and announce your intent to boycott travel in each state for as long as they continue persecuting wolves:

Our great plains were once teeming with thousands of buffalo; now, they want to exterminate the wolves, too??? LEAVE THE WOLVES ALONE!! Their families were here long before yours were!

I agree with flowerhawk COMPLETELY!!! Wake up America!!

This makes me sick to my stomach. I cannot believe that it is okay for each of these states to eradicate a species. Only a string of expletives can express how I truly feel about it. They are taking these beautiful animals away from future generations. So, I am going to do what I can to fight back... and I am going to spread the word. Can you say FACEBOOK?!?! Since our lame government won't stand up for the wolves, someone has to. Accordingly, the gloves are off! I suggest that not only should we all boycott travel but, boycott products made in each state as well. Idaho potatoes? NOPE! They will rot on the store shelves because I won't buy them and anything else made in these three states. Hit them where it really hurts... since it is all about money anyway, let's show them what the price is for killing wolves.

This madness is mindless...soulless... incorrigible and irreverent....a crime against Nature. I am here to express my "OTTER" outrage! The farce these slaughter states represent insults the very principles upon which our Nation was founded. Governors Otter, Schweitzer, and Mead, your inability to uphold integrity, to see beyond your own selfish agenda speaks volumes. This apparent "victory" was born only of trickery and has merit only within the barren landscape of your black hearts. Yet you call yourselves rulers of free men, but enslave all Americans everywhere with your calloused disregard and arrogant incompetence. Your blatant disregard for our wildlife is shameful and unconscionable... your legacy will be written in wolf blood. We will not forget....I am ashamed to be a part of the humanity where you reside. May you find the very same mercy you extend to the wolves. Thank you Priscilla and Friends of Animals....you have my unwavering respect and support in all that you do.

Thank you Priscilla for speaking out on Jane Velez-Mitchell Show. You were a valiant spokeswoman of our beloved wolves!!! Heart Hugs & HOWLS!!!!!

Well I think its unfair to kill an innocent animal. They say they are too expensive to keep them contained, yet how much is it to keep a prisoner alive each day? I'm sure its more expensive than keeping a wolf contained. They also say that wolfs are a hazard to society, wolfs are territorial creature who fight for survival they are not trained or taught this, unlike pittbulls who are bread as fighting dogs who live in almost every neighborhood we live in yet we let them live. They say that they have killed many people, this again this is something that is not intentional, what about drunk drivers, terrorist and gang-members????? They kill people every day! Yet I don't see anyone trying to take them out. Hummm how funny, we are so concerned about taking out one of mother natures creatures who by the way were here before and have been here alot longer than us. Yet we seem to ignore all the real scum that lives among us. I wonder what other creature we are going to destroy in the future......

I am just sickened by the fact that my favorite animal is coming off the endangered list. It just makes my stomach turn and blood boil. Wolves have been around forever and they are the forefathers of a dog. As it is, there are not that many wolves left in North America and the fact that people are now going to kill them is very sad. I urge the United States to NOT let this happen to one of the most beautiful animal in this country. There must be another solution than this. I pray to God that no wolf should suffer an enduring death. Please stop the idiots from letting this happen. PLEASE SAVE THE WOLVES. Maggie

Stop the killing of wolves. It's barbaric and shows a lack of understanding.

I think what you people are planing to do to these animals is cruel and beyond explanation. Why is it as an American we either have to kill or destroy everything we touch. Hopefully some one does to these people that they want to do to these poor helpless animals.

SHAME on you!!! Slipping in a "wolf de-listing rider into the Federal budget" to kill off God's creatures!! You should be concentrating on more important things than killing wolves!!! I say, no visiting the states that will be slaughtering the poor animals!! No voting for those to allow this to continue!!
